GSI possesses powerful research and design force, advanced developing and managing software system and advanced test and measure devices. Its Engineering Technology Research & Development Center is one of first 5 technical centers approved by Guangdong Provincial Government. Besides common types of ship (e.g. oil tanker, cargo ship and multi-purposed ship), the center develops high-tech and high-valued ships such as large Ro-Ro passenger ship, semi-submersible heavy lift vessel, chemical tanker, multi-purposed container ship and high speed ferry ship, large size building and bridge steel structures, electro-mechanical products (e.g. port machinery, production line), computer systems and so on. With rich accumulated technical resources, the Center will research and develop new techniques, products, workmanship and equipments to meet the need of future market, producing products of best performance, quality and economic index, and improve competitive power and market share of the Enterprise.
