GSI owns one 40,000dwt and two 60,000dwt shipbuilding slipways, one 50,000dwt shipbuilding / repairing dry dock and 1466 meters shipbuilding quay, and possesses advanced pipe processing workshops, plate processing workshops, section fabrication workshops, large-scale workshops for special coating, broad pre-assembly field and several block production sub-contractors with good technical conditions. GSI can build various kinds of vessel under 60,000dwt in compliance with the rules & regulations of main international class societies. The annual shipbuilding capacity has been over 380 thousand dead weight tons with annual ship output over 10 vessels.
GSI has been adopting new technology, workmanship and modern management method to improve new type research and design level, shorten shipbuilding cycle, and enlarge market share. GSI has entered into shipbuilding market of high-tech vessel such as RO/RO vessel, RO/RO passenger vessel and semi-submersible heavy lift vessel, and has built handy-size ships in series.
