It is known that the earth pressure balanced shield machine aggregates electricity liquid, hydraulic & sensing  and information technology as a whole, and is a high-tech construction equipment with abilities of tunneling, mud residue transmission and wall supporting by first holing, is the most advanced tunnel engineering machinery in the world. The shield machine, with a excavating diameter of 6300mm, a overall thrust of 3600KN, a maximum torque of 7200KN.m, a main drive for maximum power of 900KW, a segment diameter of 6000mm (outside) / 5400mm (inside), a largest segment weight of 4.2 tons / film was made for Azerbaijan Republic and would be used for the irrigation in the country. The newest-developed exchange-type knife in soft soil system was used in the manufacturing process of the shield machine and could make the soft soil of the knife completely interchangeable with the hob. Furthermore, it also used a hard wear-resistant alloy as the plate cover of knife boxes, which greatly enhanced the overall wear resistance of the cutter and used inverter driven motor to make cutter rotate, which greatly improved the efficiency of energy conversion and could save more than 20% energy compared with that of the hydraulic motor-driven type which was used in the past

According to insiders, the manufacturing of the earth pressure balanced shield machine represents the ability of equipment manufacturing industry of a country to a certain extent. As an early entrant of building shield machines, the Company have cooperated with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from Japan, Wirth from France, Robbins from the United States, etc on the manufacturing of more than ten sets of Φ6260mm shield machines, most of which were used in China and a Φ4250mm shield machine was exported to the United States. During the manufacturing of the earth pressure balanced shield machine, the Company made full use of it’s resources superiority and advanced welding, machining, assembly technology, and achieved the optimization of the overall performance.
